I felt the challenge questions allowed me to prove that I knew what I was doing. There's no real complaints to be had about it on the side of zbooks. Showed material in great depth with a step-by-step guide to walk you through difficult material. I had to mess up methods in my classes in order to get it to pass. The interactive portion of zybooks is incredibly useful in learning new material. It's an interesting way of having a textbook, but it seemed to work well. It implies a certain steps which make it more difficult to understand why a step has taken place. First online course material I have used my whole life that has done well keeping attention, explaining info easily and showing how to use it. Compared to the hands on platforms like Codecademy, Udacity, etc it does a poor job of explaining the material. That's great for the teacher, and that's how software is really tested in real life, however, students from SNHU (at least the ones I tutored) are going through the course without ever running a single line of code on their computers, and interacting with their programs, they just keep writing the code on the zylabs interface, and keep sending the code until the testing suite says the code is correct. One problem I have would be the video portions seem to be a bit time consuming. This course is teaching students that you must follow code down to the last newline argument instead of rewarding them for creating functional code. zybooks lays out the material in a flow that makes it easier to understand and view. However resources in the book including interactive opportunities to compile C++ helped me pick up skills quickly but were at time frustrating to use due to adding whitespace out of habit that would mark answers wrong. Being able to make mistakes was useful too as it helped to build an understanding of how to address things that didn't work as expected. I usually come up with the solution by looking at the sample code create a similar code. We used zyBooks during each class and for any assignments. I think all professors with flip classrooms should use zybooks. I have no problems with the content and learning it. This is my third or fourth zybooks experience and I have always been happy with them. But it is ok stressfu. I've never had an issue when using zyBooks. It's a good way to learn but discourages professors from teaching. zyBooks strike the perfect balance between text volume and engaged learning, with studies showing that students spend more time learning. Help them to write successful unique tests by providing them with a library of testing code that they can work with to make a zyBooks course unique to them. Although I am not a fan of computer science I believe that this was a great tool to use in practice to get better at computer science. The animations are extremely slow and the questions are pretty tedious but I did learn a lot. I love the real-time feedback on labs and challenge activities, as it allows me to catch my mistakes early on and fix them before they cause me any real trouble. I appreciated the way examples can be generated to ensure you can practice as long as you want. I do not have much of an opinion on this.
